Getting Back into Blogging: January 20-26

This Friday night, I enjoyed a delicious 'girls night' at Elaia & Olio.  Over wine, cocktails and tagine, we discussed how overhelming it can be to keep up with all of our social media outlets and I lamented the abondment of my "Travel Home" blog.  One of the ladies said that she had enjoyed the blog and suggested I bring it back- I was just glad to know someone was reading it.  Back by popular demand is my blog, may it inspire you to do a little 'traveling' around you hometown.

Sunday, January 20 from 1:30-3:30pm, Saint Louis University's Museum of Contemporary Religious Art is hosting a reception to celebrate the opening of the new exhibit 'Blood/Spirit".  Artist Jordan Eagles will be on hand at the opening.

Monday, January 21 from 9am-5pm, in rememberance of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr, Christ Church Cathedral is hosting a full day's reading of Dr. King's writings and speeches.

If you haven't had a chance to check out "The Real George Washington: Views from Mount Vernon", this is your last week.  Tuesdays, 2pm-8pm admission to the Missouri History Museum's special exhibits is free for residents of St. Louis City and County.

On Wednesday, January 23 between 2:30-7:30, take some time out of your day for a good deed.  NPR and the Scottish Rite are sponsoring a blood drive at UMSL's Grand Center.  Pre-register at http://www.redcrossblood.org using Sponsor Code KWMURadio.

If you've been looking to get in touch with your inner child, you may want to check out Sesame Street Live "Can't Stop Singing" at the Peabody Oprah House.  To get the full experience and get out some unwanted energy before the show, don't forget to visit the "Play Zone".  The show is in town January 24th-27th.

If Elmo and Cookie Monster aren't your thing, more 'mature' audiences will enjoy "Moulin Rouge- The Ballet" at Washington University's Touhill Performing Arts Center on Friday and Saturday.
